Product Review: Auto-Gard Waterless Car Wash and Glass Cleaner

By Monch "Road Monchster" Henares

Rainy days are here again. Don't you just hate it when it's bright and sunny outdoors and you spend two hundred pesos for a car wash, and as soon as you're 100 meters out in the street it drizzles. Just enough rain and road dust to mar your car's almost perfect shine. But last week, it was not only rain that fell from the heavens, but products from Auto-Gard USA that came in the mail for my review. I'm glad I discovered a quick and easy way to keep my car sparkling clean. Miraculously, it can be done in fifteen minutes

In the package were four Auto-Gard products, a 500 ml spray bottle of Auto-Gard Waterless Car Wash, a 500 ml spray bottle of Auto-Gard Glass Cleaner, a 40 X 40 cm Auto-Gard Microfiber Suede Polishing Cloth, and a pack of Auto-Gard Microfiber Cloth Starter Pack.

I focused my attention on my very dirty 2008 Honda City. It had lots of grime and dust on its surface, a weeks collection in fact.  I started the timer and quickly tackled the right rear section. Following the instructions on the label, I sprayed a conservative amount of Auto-Gard Waterless Car Wash solution directly to the painted surface. I could see it work itself into the dirt and grime, lifting and loosening it.  After waiting a few seconds, I wiped the surface with the Auto-Gard Microfiber Cloth. It removed most of the stubborn filth. A second spray application of the solution did the trick,  but this time by wiping the surface clean with the Microfiber Suede Polishing Cloth instead. The result was a very smooth and shiny paint surface with the least amount of effort and time to obtain.  It worked wonders for the glass windows, too. I finished the whole car in about 15 minutes, I rinsed the dirt filled Microfiber Cloths in running water and reused them.

Smooth and Shiny Finish
Arabelle finishing off with the trunk..."Easy breezy," she says.

"Our Auto-Gard Waterless Car Wash is made with a unique blend of plant-based surfactants that break down surface grime, while polymers leave your car's surface smooth and protected," the label reads. It also states that you can save 20-100 gallons of water per wash. We all think that our cars get a more thorough cleansing when washed with water and car shampoo. Maybe it does, but clean water is precious now a days, why not save it? Water can make things rust, too. Wow! this product not only washes your car and shines it, it saves water and mother earth too.

I also used the Auto-Gard Glass Cleaner in tandem with the Microfiber Cloth (spray on, wipe off) to clean the car windows in-between Waterless washes. Its label reads, "This product combines plant-derived ingredients and natural minerals to easily dissolve bugs, fingerprints and more." It's also ammonia free and is safe to inhale its spray fumes. A perfect combination of clean windows and a clean bill of health. :)
